HOW IT WORKS

Tell me a little about your book and why you wanted to write it. I will evaluate your work + recommend the level of service required to ready your manuscript (ms) for the publishing process. Most (but not all) of my authors self-publish. 

We will have a 30-45 minute phone or Zoom conversation during which I will explain, with examples, what level of editing or proofreading service best suits your manuscript. I will ask about your intended audience, how you intend to publish + more. We'll come to an agreement on a fee + schedule. 

Red + Blue Pencil will invoice you for a 50% deposit. Upon receipt of the deposit, I'll get to work. 

I will use MS Word Track Changes, both for corrections + comments or suggestions. I read each ms three times to ensure nothing slips through.

Upon completing the first edit, I'll invoice you for the balance + proceed upon receipt. 

I'll complete the next two reads + deliver it according to the agreed-upon schedule. AND, although I am primarily a copyeditor, I'll include line editing suggestions that address the book overall.
